CSX told us they are doing an environmental assessment before they sell
anymore abandoned corridors. This assessment is slowing down 15 sales to
tails groups around the country. Does anyone know what caused this; why
this is happening?

TO THOSE INTERESTED IN THE CENTRAL WABASH
BYWAYS / BIKEWAYS / GREENWAYS INITIATIVE:
Carroll County will host again a meeting to share the findings of the
Purdue
Class project studying the possible connections between our counties. The
meeting we had in March turned out to be an exciting time for all 6
counties
with representatives (even a couple other outside representatives loved the
connections). The mood to create travelways for biking, hiking, touring
and
all is a positive step in bringing visitors.
We will meet again with the class and Rory Robinson, National Park Service,
will moderate. There are long range goals to discuss too. Come prepared
to
review your county's connections with neighboring communities and take hope
ideas for continuing this endeavor.
We meet at 1 pm on Tuesday, April 25th in the Canal Center, 1030 North
Washington Street, Delphi and should be finished by 4 pm. Come a little
early or stay later and take in the Interpretive Center galleries or hike
to
the new trail tunnel along the canal. Check to make sure your friends know
the time and date and carpool. See ya at the meeting, DAN McCAIN
