[IndianaTrails] Panhandle Pathway- 1st Segment Completed

1st segment Of Panhandle Pathway (Winamac to Logansport) completed on May 31st.


The grading equipment began work on the first leg of the Panhandle Pathway project while two Pulaski County residents (John Bawcum President of the Pathway Friends and Dan Dolezal, Director, Pulaski Co. Community Develop Commission) were participating in the Governors Indiana Trails Plan Summit Summit in Indianapolis.  

 

This first segment about 2 miles south of Winamac connects 2 legs of local county roads, providing a 12 mile loop from the Town Park and back.  The scenic route follows and crosses the Tippecanoe River twice.  Although a short segment, it is the first completed portion of the 21 mile Panhandle Pathway between Winamac and Logansport.  



It provides this 'first local bike pathway' just in time for the Governor's proclaimed June 3rd "State Trails Day".  We look forward to many people starting to enjoy riding and becoming familiar with the Panhandle Pathway development project.
