Today's Trail Summit and the overwhelming commitment demonstrated at the
state level from all imaginable key officials, including Governor Daniels,
INDOT Commissioner/bike commuter Tom Sharp, and DNR Director Kyle Hupfer,
was something many of us couldn't have imagined in our wildest dreams only a
short time ago. Knowing that this administration aims to deliver and
absolutely wants to leverage our (the advocates') experience and active
participation, we are now all a working part of this incredible initiative
(son of Major Moves? Minor Moves?) Let's make this Trails Day (June 3rd) a
toast to our years of trying to convince everyone, in any way we could, that
trails were the best investment going in public amenities. If trails were
our company stock, we'd all be getting rich right now...and indeed we'll
feel that way when these state trails start getting built. Congratulations
to us!

For those of you who did not attend the May 31st Summit, follow-up sessions
for you to contribute to the Indiana Statewide Trails Plan were announced as
follows:

All times are 6-8PM
June 15: Clifty Inn, Clifty Falls State Park, Madison, IN
June 20: Kankakee FWA Conference Room, North Judson, IN
June 22: The Garrison, Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis, IN
June 27: Franke Park, Pavilion 1, Fort Wayne, IN
June 29: Sugar Ridge FWA Conference Room - Winslow, IN

Also, please note that my previous post regarding state trail fund doubling
was a news release from the Governor's Office. I had inadvertently left out
the source.

Cheers & thanks,
