Another event worthy of note is the Hoosier Mountain Bike Association’s
Second Annual Brown County Breakdown epic mountain bike ride on Sunday,
October 15. This is the largest fundraiser for the HMBA. Up to 250
mountain bikers will traverse the trails of Brown County State Park, Nebo
Ridge, and Hickory Ridge with marked routes of 35, 50, and 62 miles. Live
music, hot food, and gorgeous trails and scenery! More information can be
found at HYPERLINK "http://www.hmba.org/"www.hmba.org. Online registration
ends tonight at midnight.

* Kokomo north area, Bennetts Switch on SR18, 9AM-noon October 14th:
Nickel Plate Trail workday - clearing the trail from Bennetts Switch south
to the bridge over Deer Creek in Cassville, a distance of 1.5 miles. The
primary need is for volunteers with chain saws, heavy duty loppers and tree
trimmers. Lunch which will be provided. Contact Charlie Skoog HYPERLINK

* Western Hendricks County, 9AM October 14-15th: Vandalia Trail and
Crittenden Creek Trestle workdays - work on the trail all day Saturday and
possibly on Sunday. Trail pruning is needed near Amo, near the treatment
plant, and near Coatesville. Extra limb loppers, pruning saws, or even
another weed eater or chain saw could come in handy. In Amo, a pickup truck
to haul wood chips and tools to remove chain link fencing from wooden posts
could also be useful. If you want to bring a mountain or hybrid bike, we'll
also do a test ride on the trail in advance of hopefully opening the trail
for rustic cycling the following weekend. Contact Greg Midgley HYPERLINK
