A popular tool went online for bicyclists nationwide about 1 year ago at
RouteSlip.com. It's essentially a route mapping tool which allows
cyclists to see elevation changes and print out turn-by-turn
directions. Interestingly, although the site is not local to any
particular state, as of today Indiana ranks #1 in number of routes per
capita. A non-scientific conclusion is that we may have a
disproportionately high number of bicyclists here (and/or they are
using RouteSlip).
Here are the top 10:
STATE ROUTES POPULATION CAPITA/ROUTE
Indiana 1,006 6313520 6275.864811
California 5,662 36457549 6438.987813
Washington 984 6395798 6499.794715
Vermont 95 623908 6567.452632
Wisconsin 828 5556506 6710.756039
Maryland 785 5615727 7153.792357
Oregon 514 3700758 7199.918288
Missouri 650 5842713 8988.789231
Utah 281 2550063 9074.957295
