Dear Friends of Indiana Trails,

Progress has been made over the past year in the development of Indiana's
trails, greenways and bikeways plan. Many of you helped in the formulation
of "Hoosiers on the Move". The Greenways Foundation feels that not enough
everyday Hoosiers, however, know about this plan. Therefore the Foundation
has offered its services to INDOT, DNR and the Governor's office to
spearhead a campaign to build needed grassroots support for the plan among
all Indiana citizens.

As part of that campaign to reach out to residents, especially those living
in smaller towns and rural areas, two booths will be set up at the Indiana
State Fair. One booth will be in the Department of Natural Resources
building for the entire run of the Fair from Wednesday, August 8th through
Sunday, August 19th. The other booth will be in the INShape Indiana space
for the first four days of the Fair.

In order to make this be an effective outreach to citizens, we need to have
knowledgeable trails and greenways supporters manning both booths. That is
why we are writing you on the listserv today to ask that you consider
volunteering for one or more four-hour shifts at the Fair. For
volunteering, you get free admission to the Fair, along with a Greenways
Foundation golf shirt. And you get the satisfaction of helping move along
the most aggressive and promising trails initiative in the State's history.

Won't you please sign up as a volunteer today? Please provide all the
information on the attached form(s), including your shirt size. We will
mail your free admission ticket to you and have your shirt waiting for you
at the booth in which you are working. Along with your ticket, we will send
you a brief outline of how to present "Hoosiers on the Move" to your friends
and neighbors. We will also have a limited number of printed copies
available.

Please attach the completed form(s) with your reply to this address. Soon
we will also offer online signups for those who can fill the gaps. We all
need to pull together to help get the word out about Hoosiers on the Move
and start the Indiana state trails plan on the path to reality. It's not
going to happen without us.

Sincerely,

Kevin Heber
