Urban  Hikes (4 miles each), on National Trails  Day 
Saturday, June 2nd,  2007

Cost:  Free 
What: Two  sponsored walks toward the same destination, to symbolize the goal 
of joining  the Greenwood and Center Grove trails systems  together. 
When:  June 2nd.  Begins  10am, Ends approx. Noon. 
Where:  *Two options to begin. Walks will commence  from: 
*Sugar Grove Elementary School, on Smith Valley Rd  
("The  Walk for Smith Valley Trail") 
or 
*Greenwood’s Westside Park, on Main Street 
(the  "Walk This Way") 
*Destination for both  hikes:  Meijer parking lot on 135  (snack break and 
gathering) 
*Hike then returns to your  starting point. 
Why:     Raise awareness of  need for pedestrian infrastructure, through 
visibility of hikers.  Meet people in your community with  similar interests. 
(Indianapolis Hiking Club is also joining  us!) 
How:      In a white  tee-shirt, carrying a water bottle, on sidewalks (with 
short sections on  roadside in Center Grove area) 
Who:       Sponsored  jointly by Center Grove Trails and the Greenwood Trails 
Advocacy Board—all  members of the public invited 
(minors need to be  accompanied by an adult)
