The Department of the Interior's National Recreation Trail (NRT)
application deadline is coming up fast - November 1, 2007.  Please
encourage potential applicants to visit the NRT website
http://www.americantrails.org/nationalrecreationtrails/ApplyNRT.html to
find out more about the application process and to download the
application
form.  Applicants should submit a trail map, digital photos, and both a
hard copy and electronic version of the application(s).  This year I
will
also be looking for support letters from any landowners involved.

Since the NRT brochure is not quite ready yet, attached is a NRT 1-pager
which you're welcome to share with anyone who might be interested in the
program.  Thank you for your continued work and support for NRTs.  I
look
forward to working with all of you as we prepare for the next round of
designations.
