It's State Fair Time Again! August 6th - 17th

In 2007, the Greenways Foundation, with the help of many avid trails
volunteers, told countless visitors to he Indiana State Fair about the
progress that had been made all over Indiana in the development of
trails and greenways. And we asked for their support of linear parks
in their communities. The Foundation has agreed to help get the word
out again this year by providing and manning the same two booths, one
in the Department of Natural Resources Building, the other at the
InShape Indiana pavilion.

The message of progress we have to provide to Hoosiers from all over
the State this year will be even more exciting than last. We will be
able to talk about the nearly 150 miles of abandoned rail line that
has been purchased since the last Fair. And more importantly, we will
be able to tell people about the twenty-eight projects that have
recently been funded by DNR grants. Because of these developments
there is a real sense of progress and anticipation that you can help
impart to Hoosier citizens who are curious about what trails and
greenways will mean to their town, city or county.

Just like last year, we need knowledgeable, enthusiastic trails and
greenways supporters to staff the booths. For volunteering for one or
more four-hour shifts, you get free admission to the Fair. Plus, you
get a shirt. First-time volunteers will receive a Greenways Foundation
golf shirt. For those who volunteered last year, you get a
commemorative Greenways Foundation Monon Anniversary t-shirt. You also
get the satisfaction of helping your fellow citizens understand the
wonderful benefits of Hoosiers on the Move, the State's trails and
greenways plan.

Please sign up as a volunteer today at:

There are still several days and shifts available. Provide all the
information on the form, including your shirt size. We will mail your
free admission ticket to you and have your shirt waiting for you at
the booth. Along with your ticket, we will send you a brief outline of
how to present Hoosiers On The Move and the wonderful progress that
has been made this year.

Thanks for being an important part of the trails movement in Indiana!
