No need to register in advance...just show up. It's free. Rain or Shine. Details below. (please forward to others who you think might be interested) Thank you, Greenwood Trails Advocacy Board GENERAL INFO Center Grove Trails and the Greenwood Trails Advocacy Board are sponsoring their 2nd Annual National Trails Day walk on June 7th, 2008. The theme is ? Join Us on the Trail?. There will be several urban hike lengths to choose from ranging from 4 miles to 11 miles. The public is invited, along with elected officials, pets, and anyone who likes to walk and raise trails awareness. ?Last year we had over 40 people from 3 trails groups and this year we hope to double that figure? stated Anita Knowles, chairperson of Center Grove Trails, Inc. ROUTES AND MEETING PLACES CGT will begin at Sugar Grove Elementary School about 10:00am with registration and departure about 10:15 (roundtrip 4 miles). Greenwood trail walkers will begin from behind Bob Evans (go in for coffee!!) on Main St./Sheek Rd at 9:00am (roundtrip 11 miles) or meet up with the advancing group at 9:50 at Children?s Park on Main St.(roundtrip 6 miles) or meet up 10:15 at Westside Park (roundtrip 4 miles). All Greenwood routes will be comprised of paved trail and/or sidewalk. COMBINED EVENT All the above trail walkers and routes will end up meeting at the Meijer Parking lot on St. Rd. 135 about 11:00 for a break and chicken nuggets and water, compliments of Chick-Fil-A. The White River Township Fire Dept. will have a Fire Truck and EMT vehicles on display and Center Grove Trails T-shirts on sale under the CGT tent. RETURN Trail walkers will begin their return walk from Meijer about 11:20-11:30am. SUGGESTED PREPARATION With four choices of routes and distances we hope to encourage more people to participate, but please choose a route you are physically prepared to complete. We also suggest all to wear a primarily white T-shirt and carry a water bottle. And, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Thank you. The noted trail groups share a vision where safe bicycle and walking/jogging pathways will connect from the Center Grove area to Greenwood.
